My Focus: I’ve primarily designed non-fiction and business books, with a smattering of fiction. The focus is the same, regardless – to create an eye-catching piece of art that makes readers want to find out what is between the covers.
Series Designs: I’ve worked on series looks for travel, business, and architecture. Creating a design that lasts and functions over the course of multiple books (or years!) is challenging and edifying, when it comes off.
Interior Design: I was fortunate to work with a fantastic art director who taught me that math is the foundation on which all good interior design is based – the type size, the size of spaces between elements, the sizes of elements themselves, creating the harmony in design that is almost invisible.
